The product developer as a thinking and acting human is a key factor to the success of the Product Development Process. The Developer has ideas for new products, he has to have the skills to utilize tools, his mistakes endanger the success of the development procedure and his motivation determines how well he applies methods and tools.
Nevertheless the developer is not just acting independently - in order to effectively contribute to the team, he has to have social competence and communication skills as well. For optimum support of engineers in the development process we investigate factors such as creativity, problem solving, knowledge management, and team work. To this end we cooperate with psychologists, experts in social education and provide this knowledge to students and product developers.
